Rain

Rain,
    Falls;
Washes cities clean;

Cracked cement,
     Gleams, wet,
Dirt washed,
     Into gutters.

Rain,
    Falls;
Quiets the earth;

Midnight run,
    Is heard,
Each footfall,
     In silence,
Now echoes.

Rain;
     Falls;
Waters forgotten nature;

Plants drink;
     Hidden in forests,
And gulleys,
     Untended,
By gardeners

Rain;
     Falls,
Refreshes this world;

Land,
    And man,
Alike.
